Woman accused of murder in New Town stabbing death

A 43-year-old woman was arrested and accused of second-degree murder after a man was stabbed to death Friday evening in the New Town neighborhood, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police said when they arrived at the scene on West Union Street just after 5 p.m., officers found a man stabbed in the entryway to an apartment.

Jacksonville Fire Rescue pronounced the man, 46-year-old Reginald Curtis, dead at the scene.

Police said the suspect, Demyya Thomas, was found inside another apartment nearby and detained.
