Jacksonville Sheriff’s Officers responded to a reported shooting on Sunday, October 29, 2023, in the 6300 block of Philips Highway. They found a deceased male, Anthony Ronaldo Parana Camargo, near a private business.
Camargo, 26, died from gunfire. In the early stages of the investigation, surveillance footage was obtained showing one of the suspects and the vehicle used during the shooting of the victim.
After releasing this information to the public, a tip was received from the community through First Coast Crime Stoppers. Thanks to that tip, 26-year-old Christopher Antonio Garcia-Jimenez was identified as a suspect in the case.
Garcia-Jimenez was arrested for Accessory to Murder and Tampering with Evidence.
Further investigation identified a second individual was identified as the shooting suspect. 19-year-old Ellis Mannuelle Marrero-Ramos was arrested for Murder in Camargo’s death.
“Thanks to the help of a conscientious and concerned citizen, these dangerous criminals are off the street and will be held accountable for their actions.”, said the Sheriff’s Office in a statement
