Two Hamilton County men have been arrested for trafficking and selling illegal narcotics following a joint law enforcement operation.
The Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force (MJDTF) identified 36-year-old Thomas Jerome Johnson of Gainesville, Florida, as a supplier of crystal methamphetamine and counterfeit fentanyl pills in Columbia County. Task force detectives, in collaboration with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, conducted surveillance on Johnson.
On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, the Florida Highway Patrol conducted a traffic stop on Johnson in northern Columbia County, leading to the discovery of:
- 54.8 grams of crystal methamphetamine
- 595 counterfeit fentanyl pills (71.5 grams)
- 281.2 grams of synthetic marijuana
Johnson was taken into custody and transported to the Columbia County Detention Facility.
Following the traffic stop, law enforcement obtained and executed a search warrant at Johnson’s residence in Hamilton County on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. The search led to the seizure of:
- 680.39 grams of crystal methamphetamine
- 153.8 grams of synthetic marijuana
- 6 grams of powder cocaine
- 51 hydrocodone pills (22 grams)
- 2 oxycodone pills (2 grams)
- 0.5 grams of oxycodone hydrochloride
During the search, authorities also arrested Keyvon Webb on drug-related charges. Webb was booked into the Hamilton County Jail.
The operation involved multiple agencies, including the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Lake City Police Department, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Florida Highway Patrol.
