The City of Jacksonville will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, May 21st, at 9 AM to officially open the new Blue Cypress Park Pool Facility, marking the start of the 2025 City Pool Season. The event will take place at 4012 University Boulevard, N., Jacksonville, FL 32277, with remarks from stakeholders and City Officials on the pool deck, followed by a facility tour.
The new Blue Cypress Park Pool Facility aims to revive the community spirit of the park, which previously featured a swimming pool. The modern, inclusive design caters to all ages and abilities, featuring a half-circle area ideal for families and a rectangular section for recreation and lap swimming. This facility is part of broader improvements in the Arlington section of Jacksonville, which include a newly installed playground, pickleball courts, a synthetic turf flex field, boardwalk upgrades, and the recent grand reopening of the golf course.
Programming at the new pool facility will include a senior aerobics class offered by Senior Services and serve as a practice facility for local swimming teams.
Additionally, the City of Jacksonville Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) is excited to announce the opening of 30 community pools for Summer 2025. Twenty-seven of these pools will open this Saturday, May 24th, just in time for Memorial Day Weekend.
Memorial Day Weekend Outdoor Pool Hours:
- Saturday, May 24th: 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Sunday, May 25th: 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Monday, May 26th: 11:00 a.00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Pre-Season Outdoor Pool Hours (May 24th to June 1st):
- Saturdays: 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Sundays: 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Regular Season Outdoor Pool Hours (Starting Saturday, June 7th to Sunday, August 3rd):
- Monday to Friday: 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday: 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Sunday: 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Cecil Aquatics Center Hours (May 24-26):
- Saturday, May 24: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Closed daily from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. for maintenance)
- Sunday, May 25: 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Monday, May 26: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
A list of participating outdoor pools is available on JaxParks.com. Additional sites, including Carvill Park, Harts Rd/Eartha Napolean Park, Lakeshore Middle School, and San Souci Pool (Adolph Wurn Park), are scheduled to open by June 30.
