BUNNELL, Fla. – The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying two individuals accused of using a stolen credit card after a Flagler County resident fell victim to a telephone scam.
According to investigators, the victim received a phone call on July 3 from someone who convinced him to leave his credit card underneath the doormat of his home.
Authorities said the suspects later retrieved the card and used it at a Synovus Bank ATM on Granada Boulevard in Ormond Beach on July 4 and again on July 6.
Surveillance images captured at the ATM show the individuals investigators are attempting to identify.
The Sheriff’s Office reminded residents that legitimate banks, utility companies and businesses will never ask customers to leave a debit or credit card under a doormat, in a mailbox or at any other location for pickup.
Investigators also urge anyone who receives a suspicious call requesting card information or asking them to surrender a bank card to immediately hang up and contact their financial institution using the phone number printed on the back of the card.
