MILTON, Fla. – A 64-year-old Milton man was arrested after investigators said he spent weeks communicating online with undercover agents posing as a juvenile girl and offered money for a sexually explicit video.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement arrested Kenneth Daughtery on Sept. 10 following an investigation that began in August.
According to FDLE, Daughtery began communicating with two undercover agents who were posing as the same juvenile girl. Investigators said the conversations became sexual and Daughtery solicited the person he believed was a child to engage in sexual activity.
FDLE said Daughtery also offered money in exchange for a video depicting the juvenile persona engaged in sexual activity.
Agents arrested Daughtery on charges of online sexual solicitation of a minor, promoting the sexual performance of a minor and using a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony.
He was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail without bond, according to FDLE.
The case is part of an FDLE statewide initiative targeting people suspected of using the internet to sexually exploit children and those sharing material depicting the sexual abuse of children. The agency did not say whether any actual children were identified as victims in Daughtery’s case.
The State Attorney’s Office for Florida’s 1st Judicial Circuit is prosecuting the case.
