MOUNT DORA, FL — A 40-year-old Mount Dora man has been arrested on an outstanding probation violation warrant after state agents executed a search warrant at his home during an ongoing internet crimes against children investigation, authorities announced.
Michael Kinne, 40, was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Lake County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
NCMEC Cybertip Traced to Kik Account
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) launched the cyber investigation in May 2026 after receiving a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
The report alerted state agents that a user on the messaging application Kik was actively storing and distributing digital files depicting the sexual abuse of children.
FDLE cybercrime investigators traced the Kik account and its associated internet protocol (IP) address to a residential address in Mount Dora, ultimately identifying Kinne as the account’s owner.
Residential Raid and Seizure of Electronics
On Thursday, July 16, 2026, agents with the FDLE Cybercrime Task Force, supported by the FDLE Special Operations Team, executed a search warrant at Kinne’s Mount Dora residence. During the operation, agents seized multiple electronic devices for forensic analysis.
During the execution of the search warrant, agents discovered that Kinne was subject to an active, no-bond warrant for violation of probation on unrelated charges, leading to his immediate arrest.
Active Investigation Status: The Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution has been assigned to prosecute the case. FDLE noted that the investigation remains active and additional felony charges related to child sexual abuse material are expected pending the results of forensic examinations on the seized electronics.
