It’s your one mild day before the cold returns

Today reaches the mid 70s and is likely the warmest we will see for the remainder of January. Showers will be on the increase through the mid-morning hours. The skies stay cloudy today and tomorrow.

Thunderstorms are possible this evening with rain totalling around a quarter inch. Stronger storms stay north of Jacksonville targeting central and southern Georgia.

The best rain chances are from 6-9 pm this evening followed by a dry overnight and weekend.

Saturday’s temps dip lower with highs only in the upper 50s. Overnight low temperatures reach the lower 30s Sunday morning with potential freezing and frost conditions.

Rain heavier than today returns Monday and Tuesday with the coldest air of the season potentially arriving Wednesday with back-to-back freezes next week.
