All northbound lanes of I-295 will be closed for an “unknown amount of time” Wednesday morning, police said, because of a crash on the Dames Point Bridge.
Jacksonville Fire and Rescue said crews are on the scene of the accident and that one person is trapped with critical injuries.
Drivers will need to exit I-295 at Merrill Road.
The Florida Highway Patrol, which will be investigating the crash, said it was first reported at 4:47 a.m. Wednesday.
