Man Arrested for Burglary and Dog Abduction in Port Orange

Port Orange Police responded to a burglary call on April 15, 2024, at around 4:19 am in the 700 block of E. Hensel Hill Rd.

Homeowners reported an unknown male breaking into their home and abducting their pet dog. The homeowners also said that the male claimed he had walked from South Daytona looking for his black pit bull that had been stolen.

The suspect, 32-year-old Jenung Marenah, allegedly entered the residence after hearing the family dog, a yellow labrador, barking in the backyard. Police found Marenah walking near the house less than 15 minutes later.

Initially providing a false name, it was later revealed that Marenah had an open warrant for reckless driving in Volusia County.

Marenah was arrested for burglary of an occupied dwelling, providing false information to law enforcement, and the open warrant.
