A 15-year-old female student was arrested on February 11, 2025, after making threats to bring a gun to Atlantic High School and carry out a shooting.
The Port Orange Police Department received multiple reports around 5:00 p.m. regarding the threats, prompting an investigation that led to the identification of the student. Police officers contacted the juvenile at her home, where the investigation concluded with her arrest.
She was charged with disturbing school functions and transported to the Volusia Family Resource Center. Authorities confirmed that the juvenile did not have access to a firearm while at home. The student’s parents were cooperative throughout the investigation.
