Car Crashes Into Church After Possible Gunfire in Haines City

Haines City police are investigating a series of incidents that occurred on Sunday, February 9, 2025, involving possible gunfire, a hit-and-run, and a vehicle crashing into a church.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunshots near Avenue I and 12th Street North. While en route, officers received a report of a bicyclist who had been struck by a vehicle in the same area. Shortly after, a black Chrysler 200 lost control and crashed into Beulah Baptist Church on 12th Street North.

The adult bicyclist sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. No injuries related to gunfire have been reported.

The occupants of the Chrysler 200 fled the scene on foot, and authorities are working to identify and locate them. A second vehicle may have been involved, and its occupants have been interviewed by detectives.

The Haines City Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is actively gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses to determine whether the events are connected.
