Teen Charged in Armed Robbery During Cellphone Sale in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. — A 17-year-old is facing multiple charges after Orlando police say he robbed a victim at gunpoint during a cellphone sale and was later found with the stolen property and a stolen firearm.

West Patrol officers responded April 1, 2026, to the 900 block of South Kirkman Avenue regarding an armed robbery.

According to police, the victim had arranged to sell cellphones to the suspect, identified as Gregori Castro-Santana.

During the exchange, investigators said Castro-Santana displayed a firearm and stole the cellphones along with $300 in cash.

Officers later made contact with Castro-Santana and detained him.

Police said the stolen items and the firearm were recovered at his residence.

Further investigation determined the firearm had been reported stolen in 2023, according to authorities.

Castro-Santana was charged with:

  • Armed robbery
  • Grand theft, third degree
  • Possession of a firearm by a minor

The Orlando Police Department reminded residents to use caution when arranging online sales and encouraged the use of safe, public meeting places or designated e-commerce exchange zones.
