JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting inside a Jacksonville apartment, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Officers responded Friday, April 24, 2026, to an apartment complex on Collins Road near Retreat Boulevard in the Ortega area following a report of a person shot.
When officers arrived, they found a woman inside the apartment suffering from at least one gunshot wound. She was transported to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Detectives with the Homicide Unit launched an investigation and quickly identified 19-year-old Isaiah Micaleb Robinson, who had been detained at the scene, as the suspect.
After interviewing Robinson and reviewing evidence, investigators arrested him and charged him with manslaughter.
Authorities expressed condolences to the victim’s family as the investigation continues.
