2 Juveniles Arrested After Snapchat Video Leads Detectives to Stolen Fishing Poles

PALM COAST, Fla. — Two juveniles were arrested after a car burglary investigation in Palm Coast led deputies to stolen fishing poles allegedly featured in a Snapchat video, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they responded May 3, 2026, to the Union Court area after a resident reported a vehicle burglary.

According to investigators, multiple custom fishing poles valued at approximately $1,550 were stolen from an unlocked truck parked in a driveway.

Detectives later identified a suspect vehicle after reviewing a Snapchat video that appeared to show the stolen fishing poles. Investigators determined the vehicle had been in the Union Court area the night of the burglary.

On May 5, detectives interviewed 15-year-old Jonathan Brown of Bunnell and a 12-year-old juvenile from Palm Coast in the presence of their mothers.

Authorities said detectives recovered the stolen fishing poles from locations connected to the juveniles and returned the items to the victim.

Both juveniles were arrested May 13 on juvenile arrest orders charging them with burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and grand theft.

Investigators said the juveniles were transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility for processing before being transferred to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice facility in Volusia County.

Rick Staly urged residents to lock their vehicles and remove valuables, saying unlocked cars often attract thieves.
