ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Detectives with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Winter Park man Tuesday during an undercover operation targeting individuals accused of attempting to solicit minors online.
Authorities said investigators posed online as minors as part of the operation designed to identify and apprehend child predators before they could harm children.
According to investigators, 54-year-old Alan Manning Chambers believed he was communicating with a 14-year-old boy, but was actually speaking with an undercover detective.
Detectives said Chambers later attempted to meet the person in real life and was taken into custody on May 19, 2026.
Chambers now faces the following charges:
- Solicitation of a Minor
- Transmission of Harmful Material to Minors
- Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device
Investigators said they are attempting to determine whether there may be additional minor victims connected to Chambers.
