Blue Crab blue skies

After a wet week, the weather will be improving for the Palatka Blue Crab Festival during this three-day Memorial Day weekend event.

The coastal low resulting in gusty winds and frequent downpours will head away Friday just in time for the opening of the festival at 6 PM.

Temperatures will be a little cool for the Molly Hatchet concert starting at 9 PM, especially with the breezy north winds and dropping humidity.

There are plenty of activities Saturday and Sunday including live music, arts and crafts, and of course the famous seafood cook-off. Saturday will be mostly dry with decreasing winds later in the afternoon.

Saturday will be nice and sunny with temps reaching the upper 70s. Sunday will be hotter with highs in the low to mid 80s.

During the evening you may want to bring some comfortable clothing for temperatures dipping down into the 60s after sunset.
