Dry air keeps the heat high but the rain chance low

Temps will reach about 95 in most areas this afternoon but the humidity is actually less than normal for June. This is why we we started out 7 degrees cooler this morning in the low 70s compared to yesterday.

The break does not last as highs climb back above normal in the mid 90s with a heat index at or under 101 this afternoon.

Tthe drier air blocks any chance of rain until the weekend.

Humidity increases Sunday when heat advisories may return.

10 Days of heat unmatched since 2010. Our “10-10 Heatwave” began 4 days ago. We are at halfway through a heat wave with temps 95° or higher. Hopefully it will break down after Independence day. .

The next good chance for rain is Sunday with showers and afternoon storms through the Fourth of July.
