A 47-year-old man is dead after being hit by an SUV, while riding his bike, on Chaffee Road and Old Gainesville Road early Tuesday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The SUV was traveling south on Chaffee Road near Old Gainesville Road and the bicyclist was traveling within the southbound travel lane of Chaffee Road. That’s when the front of the SUV hit the bicyclist, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The bicyclist died at the scene.
This crash is still under investigation, according to FHP.
