News4JAX received a statement from the Navy confirming two individuals were transported Monday after a fire broke out on the USS Winston S. Churchill — a guided missile destroyer.
Sky4 flew near the station where Navy fire units were spotted.
Two people were treated for smoke inhalation. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department was also called in to assist but said the fire was extinguished before they arrived on the base.
