Heavy rain eases for most areas today

Isolated short-lived morning showers will stay south of Jacksonville this morning.

Drier air has moved in so don’t expect any record rainfall like yesterday’s 1.77″ in Jacksonville. Later this afternoon showers and storms will target St. Johns, Putnam, and Flagler

Counties primarily from 3-7 pm where rain chances will be 40%. Rain drops to 20% around Duval and stays dry all day north of the area into Georgia.

The heat stays in the mid-90s today and tomorrow with the lower rain potential. Then temps drop into the upper 80s as clouds and showers increase Sunday. The tropical wave that pushes across Florida increases easterly breezes and moisture for the second half of the weekend. Then drier air moves in early next week.
