Porchfest Draws Curious and Fun Lovers to Historic Springfield

Thousands flocked to historic Springfield Preservation and Revitalization (SPAR) for the annual Porchfest showcase of the areas historic homes while celebrating the arts. Each year the event connects neighbors, families, friends and business owners for a day of engagement and urban renewal to eat, meet and greet via food trucks, vendors and live music entertainment.  The annual event raises funds to improve the quality of life and programming in the Springfield neighbor.  Author Natasha Owens, owner of her Perry Street/Boulevard nine bedroom three bath home which she inherited from her grandmother, smiled ,“I’ve been asked plenty of times to sell this house. There are too many memories in this house and the neighbors continue to thrive with new and renovated homes that connect porches, history and culture” said Owens, seated on the PorchFest music stage with friend Jermaine Meddler.
