Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly is set to hold a news conference on Thursday afternoon to announce a major update on the investigation into the shooting death of an 18-month-old girl that happened in Palm Coast in early September.

The Flager County Sheriff’s Office was investigating after the 1-year-old girl was shot and killed on Sept. 3. The shooting may have been accidental, the sheriff said, but a person of interest was identified and arrested on a separate charge.
