Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa Unveils 12-Foot-Tall Gingerbread House to Kick Off the Holidays

Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa kicked off the holidays at the Ponte Vedra Beach resort this weekend, unveiling a massively “sweet” 12-foot-tall gingerbread house standing as tall as an elephant and measuring 8 feet square. The display is the artistic creation of the resort’s executive pastry chef James Victorino and is comprised of:

75 pounds of sugar
285 pounds of all-purpose flour
8 gallons of molasses
25 dozen eggs
Heaps of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and love!

The gingerbread house will be on display in the lobby all holiday season, after which it will be fed to the bee colony at the resort’s Bee Hill Micro Farm.

Sawgrass Marriott’s holiday festivities also include Teddy Bear Tea, specialty holiday dining, a towering 20-foot lobby Christmas tree, dazzling décor and more. New this year, Teddy Bear Tea invites the young and young-at-heart to share in an exclusive experience featuring tea, pastries, tea sandwiches, holiday activities such as cookie/ornament decorating, crafts, Letters to Santa and more. Teddy Bear Tea is hosted at Vernon’s First Coast Kitchen & Bar. Guests ages 12 and under will receive a teddy bear with their ticket.
