Two days into the new year, two men were shot while sitting in a car Tuesday afternoon on the Westside, according to police.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the men were sitting in a car on Plantation Bay Drive around 5:30 p.m. when a person they did not know approached the vehicle and started shooting.
The shooter sped off afterward. Witnesses told police they saw a blue and a red sedan speeding off, but it’s unclear if those vehicles were involved.
One man was hit in the shoulder and the other was shot in the chest. They were taken to the hospital, where one man is in stable condition and the other is in critical.
JSO believes it was one shooter, and it’s an isolated incident.
