‘100 Black Men of Jacksonville’ to host scholarship fair at DuPont Center on Saturday

The 100 Black Men of Jacksonville (J100) group will host its 2024 Infinite Scholars Scholarship Fair on Saturday at the Jessie Ball DuPont Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will feature more than 30 national, regional, and local colleges and universities including various historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs).

Previous participants of the fair have included Florida State College at Jacksonville, University of North Florida, Florida State University, University of Central Florida, Hampton University, Florida A&M University, the United States Naval Academy, Bethune-Cookman University and the Mayo School of Health and Sciences.

More than $30 million in scholarships and financial aid have been offered by participating schools to hundreds of area students over the 18-year history of the local fair.

The J100 recommends students register for the fair online and come prepared with a high school transcript, admission test scores (if taken), two letters of recommendation, a resume and an essay on “Why I want to go to college.”
