The Lake City police announced the arrest of Dallas Walters, 26, for sexual assault of a juvenile.
Police say on Jan. 27, 2024 a witness told authorities Walters was alone with the child while they ran to a store. Upon returning from the store the witness walked into the home and saw the victim running to the bathroom with unzipped pants. Walters was laying in the bed where the child had ran from.
The witness took the victim out for a drive away from the suspect. The victim described unwanted sexual activity occurring between the victim and Walters.
The victim expressed fear telling the witness about this incident, as Walters had threated to kill the victim if he told anyone.
The witness contacted police and took the victim for medical treatment.
Investigators with the Lake City Police Department also assisted with a Child Protective Team interview, where the victim admitted to previous incidents of this occurring with Walters, including multiple different sexual act.
Walters is being held in the Columbia County jail where he faces Sexual Battery by an Adult on a Victim Under 12 Years of Age, Aggravated Child Abuse Lewd and Lascivious Behavior, Indecent Exposure by an Adult and Tampering With a Witness.
