City of Jacksonville Beach abruptly closes Monday after ‘information systems issues’

The City of Jacksonville Beach announced Monday that it will temporarily shut down due to an information systems issue and has closed all business for the day.

The issues are affecting the following areas:

City Hall and Parks and Recreation facilities, including the tennis center and the golf course, are closed.Beaches Energy Services is still taking payments at BeachesEnergyServices.com and in person with checks submitted through the city hall drop box.Emergency services are still operational, meaning if you have an emergency you can still call 911.There are extreme delays for city staff and officials receiving and sending emails.Waste services, public works crews, and beaches energy crews will continue work as normal.

News4JAX reached out to Mayor Christine Hoffman, who provided a statement:

“We are currently addressing an information systems issue and many city functions are down including email. City hall will reopen tomorrow with limited operations, and we will provide more information as we have it,” Hoffman said.
