Thousands of runners, walkers and spectators are warming up for the 17th Annual DONNA Marathon that kicks off Friday and ends Sunday.
The event begins with an expo and includes a 5K, DONNA Dash, half marathon, marathon and an ultramarathon. Apart from the races, the DONNA Marathon also includes a Health & Wellness Expo.
The weekend is kicking off downtown with the Health & Wellness Expo. Meanwhile, the DONNA Dash, a family-friendly one-mile run, and the 5K will start and finish inside the EverBank Stadium.
Then, on Sunday, the events move to the beaches with the half marathon and full marathon. Runners will begin and end the race at the Seawalk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach.

According to its website, the DONNA Marathon is the only marathon in the US dedicated to breast cancer research and care and benefits The DONNA Foundation, founded by Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan.
“As a three-time breast cancer survivor, this is in my heart. Period,” Deegan said.
