On Monday, Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) detectives arrested 34-year-old Christian Linan on a lewd and lascivious battery charge on a juvenile victim, according to a release.
Linan served as a school resource officer at Dunnellon High School since August 2022. Detectives were made aware of the allegations after the victim, a former student who is now an adult, confided in a counselor about her and Linan’s relationship.
According to the investigation, Linan began having inappropriate sexual contact with the victim in 2019 when she was 15 years old. The victim reported that she and Linan had sex on multiple occasions while she was a juvenile. After interviewing Linan, detectives found that enough evidence existed for Linan’s arrest.
Linan, who resigned from his position, had been serving with the MCSO since September 2016. He is currently being held in the Marion County Jail with no bond.
