Jacksonville man accused of manslaughter in 2023 shooting death of woman in Sherwood Forest

A man was arrested Wednesday and accused of manslaughter in connection to the shooting death of a woman in April 2023 in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

According to the arrest report, Adin Tyler Bonner, 28, was among several 911 callers who reported a woman had been shot in a home on Norfolk Boulevard on April 27, 2023.

Upon their arrival, JSO and the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department located the 22-year-old victim, who had been shot multiple times. She was transported to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead during surgery, according to police.

JSO said Bonner was questioned after the shooting and cooperated with police.

After further investigation, it was determined that Bonner knew the victim, but their relationship was unclear. According to the arrest report, Bonner and the 22-year-old woman had a child together.

On the night of the shooting, the two had a verbal altercation, which escalated, and ended with the woman being shot in the chest, according to the arrest report.
