A Cold Front with Rain and Storms is on the Way

The Weather Authority is currently tracking cloudy skies with areas of light rain over southeast Georgia.  A cold front, currently near Valdosta, GA, will move through our area from around 5 p.m. through 8 p.m.  It’s a short period of time where a lot can happen.  Isolated strong to severe storms will be possible as the front moves west to east with a focus near I-75 and north of I-10 from the Suwannee River to the Swamp.  Cooler temperatures will move in as the skies clear tonight.  Sunny skies and seasonal temperatures through Wednesday.

Tonight:  Storms arrive around 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. Waycross, GA, Lake City, FL.  5 p.m. – 6 p.m. The front spreads east from Lake City, Macclenny, Charlton, Brantley and along I-95.  6 p.m. – 7 p.m. the front will be over Alachua, Union and Bradford counties as well as Nassau county and north along I-95.  7 p.m – 8 p.m the front will be over Putnam, Clay, St. Johns and Duval counties as well as coastal southeast Georgia.  8 p.m. – 9 p.m. the front will move off shore.

Breezy and cool Tuesday under partly cloudy skies.  Windy conditions early then lighter wind through the afternoon.

The pollen count remains elevated this week.
