On Tuesday, February 13, 2024, Patrol Officers from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 4300 block of Post Street in the Murray Hill area following reports of a shooting.
Upon reaching the scene, Officers found Blaise Conner, a 17-year-old white male, with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite efforts from the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, Conner was pronounced deceased.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Homicide Detectives, alongside the Crime Scene Unit, arrived to investigate the incident. Through their diligent work, JSO Homicide Team #4 identified Josef D. Madison, an 18-year-old white male, as the suspect.
Two days later, on Thursday, February 15, 2024, Madison was located and apprehended, who now faces charges of murder.
