High-Speed Pursuit Ends in Arrest After Collision in Clay and Duval Counties

On March 12, 2024, around 11:48 am, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office Real Time Crime Center received a notification through the LPR system regarding a vehicle linked to an armed robbery/carjacking in Duval County. The vehicle was reportedly spotted near Blanding Blvd and Constitution Drive. Deputies initiated pursuit when the suspect vehicle fled north on Blanding Blvd.

Clay County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) units, along with assistance from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), pursued the suspect. The pursuit led to a collision near the intersection of Blanding Blvd and Collins Rd in Duval County. The driver intentionally rammed a CCSO vehicle and collided with several other vehicles.

Following the crash, deputies apprehended the suspect at the scene. FHP is currently investigating the collision, while both the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and CCSO are conducting further investigations to determine additional charges.

Clay County Sheriff Michelle Cook expressed gratitude towards law enforcement personnel, stating, “The Clay County Sheriff’s Office Real Time Crime Center is a game changer. Any criminal who enters into our county should know that we see you. There is no hiding here. Thank you to our brave deputies and troopers who are on the front line keeping us safe. I am thankful that nobody was seriously injured today due to the recklessness of a dangerous criminal.”
