Jacksonville Police Seek Information in Fatal Home Invasion Robbery

Late Saturday evening on January 6, 2024, Jacksonville officers rushed to the 8000 block of Ivymill Court following reports of a shooting incident. Upon arrival, they found 45-year-old Gary Mills inside a residence, critically injured. Despite efforts to save him, Mills succumbed to his injuries from a gunshot wound after being transported to a local hospital.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department personnel were present at the scene. Following protocol, members of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit initiated investigations into the murder.

Initial findings suggest that the incident stemmed from a Home Invasion Robbery, involving at least four suspects. Surveillance footage from the area captured two individuals believed to be involved, along with a vehicle suspected to be linked to the crime.

The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward.
