Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Cracks Down on Street Racing: Multiple Arrests and Seizures Made

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is cracking down on street racing following a surge in complaints and incidents reported by concerned citizens and officers. Over the weekend, law enforcement deployed various units across the city to address this dangerous activity.

Despite efforts to deter participation, officers encountered individuals engaging in street racing. Saturday’s deployment involved officers from Patrol, Traffic, K9, and the Air Unit.

Enforcement actions yielded significant results:

  • 5 misdemeanor arrests
  • 7 felony arrests
  • 2 firearms seized
  • 40 grams of marijuana confiscated
  • 1 arrest warrant served
  • 33 citations issued
  • 8 vehicles towed and impounded
