The incident occurred in the parking lot, where deputies found 33-year-old Traske C. Johnson with multiple gunshot wounds. Johnson was transported to a local hospital, but despite immediate lifesaving efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect, 35-year-old Dwann D. Ross Jr., was present at the scene and was quickly detained by deputies. Investigations revealed that Johnson and Ross, who operated separate businesses within Colonial Plaza, had been involved in a physical altercation. During the altercation, Ross retrieved a handgun and shot Johnson multiple times.
