On Sunday, August 18, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) responded to a well-being check at a residence in the 8900 block of 3rd Avenue in the Riverview area. Upon arrival, officers found 34-year-old Devvin D’Andre McCray deceased inside the home.
JSO’s Homicide Team 7 Detectives, along with the Crime Scene Unit, arrived to investigate. The investigation, aided by the Medical Examiner’s Office and the State Attorney’s Office, led to the identification and interview of a suspect. On August 19, 2024, 27-year-old Brittany Nichelle Bryant was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
