Jacksonville Light Boat Parade to Illuminate St. Johns River on November 30

The City of Jacksonville is set to host the annual Jacksonville Light Boat Parade on Saturday, November 30, 2024, with festivities kicking off at 6:30 p.m. A vibrant fleet of decorated boats, ranging from small vessels to luxury yachts, will sail along the St. Johns River, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display featuring the signature “waterfalls” effect from the Main Street and Acosta Bridges.

This year’s parade will include enhanced activities along the Southbank, with special attractions and entertainment at Friendship Fountain. “Jacksonville thrives when we come together as one community,” said Mayor Donna Deegan. “The Light Boat Parade is not only a festive tradition for our community but also a celebration of unity and connection. I hope everyone will join us for an unforgettable night as we illuminate our beautiful river and create memories that will last a lifetime.”

The parade route begins at the west end of the Shipyards, travels along the Northbank, turns south before the Acosta Bridge, and continues east along the Southbank. Spectators are encouraged to gather at various vantage points, with Friendship Fountain on the Southbank serving as a key hub for festivities.

Free public parking will be available at the DCPS Building (1701 Prudential Drive) and the Kings Avenue Parking Garage (1201 Kings Avenue). Parking meters downtown will also be free on weekends, offering additional options for attendees. Limited ADA-accessible parking will be provided near Friendship Fountain to ensure inclusivity for all visitors.

The Jacksonville Light Boat Parade remains a cherished tradition, bringing the community together to celebrate the holiday season along the city’s iconic waterfront.
