On Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 10:40 PM, Lake City Police officers responded to a fatal single-motorcycle crash at West US Highway 90 and SW Baya Drive.
Investigators determined that the motorcycle was traveling east on West US Highway 90 when the operator lost control, veered onto the grass median, and struck a sign pole. The rider was ejected from the motorcycle upon impact and sustained fatal injuries.
The Lake City Police Department expressed gratitude to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Highway Patrol, Lake City Fire Department, and Columbia County Emergency Medical Services for their prompt response and assistance during the investigation.
