Two Arrested in Separate Gilchrist County Traffic Stops for Meth Trafficking

On November 26, 2024, Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Deputy Marchione conducted a traffic stop on a white GMC van traveling on US Highway 129, north of the Town of Bell. The driver, identified as Christopher William Kuhn, 38, of Bell, was found to have an active warrant for violation of probation.

When informed of his warrant and placed in handcuffs, Kuhn admitted to possessing illegal items, saying, “Yeah of course I do, it’s in my pocket.” A search of Kuhn revealed a metal container in his shirt pocket containing 14.4 grams of methamphetamines. Kuhn was arrested and charged with:

  • One count of trafficking methamphetamines
  • One count of possession of drug paraphernalia
  • One count of violation of probation

In a separate incident early the next morning, November 27, 2024, Deputy Lee stopped a red Ford SUV on US Highway 19 in Fanning Springs for a traffic violation. The driver, identified as Connie Ann Sullivan, 54, of Trenton, was subjected to a drug investigation during the stop. The investigation uncovered 16.2 grams of methamphetamines, oxycodone, and drug paraphernalia. Sullivan was also found to have attempted to introduce controlled substances into the county detention facility.

Sullivan was charged with:

  • One count of trafficking methamphetamines
  • One count of possession of a controlled substance (Oxycodone)
  • One count of possession of drug paraphernalia
  • One count of introducing a controlled substance into a county detention facility

Sheriff Bobby Schultz commented on the arrests, emphasizing the department’s commitment to combating illegal drug activity in Gilchrist County. “Such illegal activity in our county will not be tolerated. Because of these individuals’ actions, they spent the Thanksgiving holidays (and beyond) behind bars instead of with their families. We will continue to seek out anyone who breaks the law and use every tool we have to investigate, apprehend and incarcerate those who insist on committing such crimes. We will continue to make our county as safe of a place as possible to live, work, and raise families.”
