Child Injured at Busch Gardens’ Howl-O-Scream Event Awarded $8.15M in Lawsuit

A young child sustained serious injuries during the annual Howl-O-Scream event at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida, after gaining access to an unsecured area of the park.

The incident occurred when the child entered the unlocked and unattended Stanleyville Theater, where he accessed the stage and an acrobatic trampoline. He fell from the trampoline, suffering blunt force trauma that caused lacerations to his chin, liver, and right kidney. The injuries resulted in the loss of function of his kidney.

Morgan & Morgan represented the child in a lawsuit against Busch Gardens, securing an $8.15 million verdict on November 18, 2024. The case highlighted the park’s failure to secure restricted areas during the event.
