On December 11, 2024, at approximately 5:30 a.m., members of the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) executed a search warrant at a residence located at 8749 SW 81st Terrace, Trenton (Fanning Springs), Florida, following numerous complaints about illegal drug activity at the location.
During the search, authorities discovered approximately 30 grams of methamphetamine, 2 grams of Fentanyl, a large quantity of oxycodone, 119 grams of cannabis, various drug paraphernalia, and a firearm. Two individuals were arrested in connection with the illegal drug operation: Samantha Cecilia Lawson, 47, and Christopher Dale Emmons, 41, both from Fanning Springs.
Samantha Lawson was charged with possession with intent to sell, manufacture, or deliver methamphetamine, sale of methamphetamine, and maintaining a public nuisance where drugs are used or sold. Christopher Emmons faces multiple charges, including two counts of possession with intent to sell, manufacture, or deliver methamphetamine, two counts of sale of methamphetamine, two counts of possession with intent to sell opiates, and two counts of sale of opiates or derivatives.
Sheriff Bobby Schultz praised the efforts of his team, noting the ongoing investigation and the likelihood of additional charges and arrests. “We continue to work diligently to keep Gilchrist County from being a safe haven for those individuals or networks who want to poison our community with illegal narcotics. We have and will continue to aggressively seek out, investigate, and arrest these dangerous individuals to protect our communities,” Sheriff Schultz stated.
