On December 12, 2024, officers from the Palatka Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing at 116 Belmont Drive. Upon arrival, officers found 39-year-old Tommy Watts of Palatka bleeding from multiple stab wounds on the front porch. Officers provided first aid until medical personnel arrived.
Watts identified 32-year-old Tavarous Quenard Wright, also of Palatka, as the person who had stabbed him. Officers located the crime scene at 114 Belmont Drive and quickly set up a perimeter. With the assistance of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, Wright was apprehended without incident.
Detectives, who took over the investigation, spoke with witnesses and the victim. They concluded that Wright was the assailant. Wright was arrested on charges of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and booked into the Putnam County Jail. His bond has been set at $100,000.
