On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Orlando Police officers responded to reports of an in-progress assault with a knife at the Fountains at Metrowest Apartments on the 5900 block of Westgate Drive.
Upon arrival, officers approached a second-story apartment with an open door and observed the suspect inside. Officers gave verbal commands for the suspect to put his hands up. Initially, the suspect did not comply, but after several minutes, he placed his hands behind his back, allowing officers to secure him without further incident.
The weapon was recovered at the scene, preventing potential harm to any victims. The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Sean Lucas, was arrested and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Lucas’s bond was set at $5,000. No injuries were reported in the incident.
