On Thursday, December 26, 2024, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) Corrections Sergeant Donald Boston was arrested on a charge of domestic battery, a first-degree misdemeanor. Boston, who has been employed with JSO for over 17 years, was placed on administrative status following his arrest.
Boston, who became a Sergeant in October 2022, was involved in a domestic dispute at his residence. Officers responding to the incident gathered evidence showing that during an argument, Boston grabbed the arm of a family member. When the victim pulled away, they fell to the ground. No injuries were reported for the victim, though Boston sustained a laceration to his arm.
Following the incident, Boston was arrested by the Integrity Detectives. JSO has stripped him of his authority as a correctional officer and will conduct an internal investigation once the criminal case is resolved.
