A months-long investigation by Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) detectives culminated in the arrest of 21-year-old Joshua Lherisson on January 9, 2025, after he was found in possession of a significant quantity of illegal drugs and multiple firearms, including a stolen weapon with an obliterated serial number.
Lherisson’s arrest follows two incidents of gunfire in the usually quiet Oakland Park neighborhood last year, which sparked an extensive investigation by BSO’s Oakland Park detectives and Crime Suppression Team. Through meticulous surveillance, detectives observed Lherisson selling narcotics while using counter-surveillance tactics to evade law enforcement. This led to his arrest in the 5600 block of Northeast 14th Avenue, where he was found with both a firearm and narcotics.
A subsequent search warrant was executed at Lherisson’s residence at 2012 N.W. 38th Street. The search uncovered a stash of drugs, including MDMA (Ecstasy), amphetamines, cocaine, and Oxycodone. Investigators also recovered three firearms: a Glock 9mm handgun, an AR-15 style rifle, and a stolen Smith & Wesson 442 with its serial number scratched off.
Lherisson faces several charges, including possession of amphetamines, trafficking in Oxycodone, armed trafficking of MDMA and cocaine, altering firearm identification numbers, possession of fraudulent identification, and using a firearm during the commission of a felony.
The investigation is ongoing, and BSO Oakland Park district detectives are urging the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
