A mobile home fire early Sunday morning on Aenon Church Road has left one person dead and another hospitalized.
The Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) was dispatched at approximately 5:56 a.m. on January 12 after reports indicated heavy fire and possible trapped occupants.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered flames engulfing the mobile home. Crews initiated a search and rescue operation, locating and pulling two individuals from the burning structure. Simultaneously, they worked to bring the fire under control and extinguished it.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities later confirmed that one of the victims succumbed to their injuries.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
The Tallahassee Fire Department received assistance from the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Leon County EMS, and Talquin Electric Cooperative at the scene.
