Contractor Fraud Suspect Arrested in Jacksonville, Police Seek Additional Victims

Detectives with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Economic Crimes Unit are searching for more victims of Johan Portilla-Guzman, who was arrested over the weekend on charges of Organized Fraud.

Portilla-Guzman, the owner of Pro-Remodeling, allegedly posed as a licensed contractor to deceive homeowners. Instead of completing the promised work, he is accused of scamming customers out of tens of thousands of dollars.

Authorities are urging anyone who has worked with Portilla-Guzman or Pro-Remodeling to come forward and provide information. Victims are asked to contact JSOCrimeTips@JaxSheriff.org to assist in the investigation and ensure justice is served for all affected.

The case remains under active investigation.
