Road Rage Incident Leads to Arrest for Gun Threat in Jacksonville Beach

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department arrested a suspect on February 7, 2025, after a road rage incident escalated into a threat involving a firearm. The suspect, who was extremely intoxicated, allegedly threatened the victim with the weapon during the altercation.

Police apprehended the 28-year-old man as he was walking into a bar in downtown Jacksonville Beach. It is illegal in Florida to carry a firearm into a bar, including the bar areas of restaurants, and it is also prohibited to carry a weapon while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The suspect faces a second-degree misdemeanor charge, with penalties including up to 60 days in jail, six months of probation, a $500 fine, and the forfeiture of the firearm. The investigation is ongoing.
